NORTH ATTLEBORO — An analysis of MCAS scores over the past four years has found that local scores in all three subject areas — math, English and science — have remained somewhat static.

But, a deeper comparison of 2016 scores statewide shows North Attleboro scoring higher than the state average.

Around 85 percent of North Attleboro students scored “advanced” or “proficient” scores on MCAS math in 2016, compared with 78 percent of students statewide. On MCAS English, 71 percent of local students scored advanced or proficient, compared with 67 percent of students statewide. And, 80 percent of local students scored in the higher two categories on the biology exam, compared with 75 percent of students statewide.

Individual MCAS scores will be released Friday.
